The 9th Annual Pedal Thru The Pines hosted by the Family Crisis Center invites you to participate in a fun filled day that supports the Center's vision of a safe community built on equality without the existence of violence. Cyclists will enjoy traversing the beautiful Loblolly Pines of Bastrop and Buescher State Parks and the surrounding country roads of Bastrop, Fayette and Lee counties. The fourth annual Autism Society of Greater Austin Bike Ride features a range of distances that will suit all riders: from kids, beginners and families, all the way up to seasoned cyclists and triathletes. There will be rest stops supported by local organizations providing all of the necessities. SAG and EMS will be provided as well. RAINSTORM™ offers an intensive week of cycling for riders preferring longer distances. Each day's route is approximately 100 miles. This non-competitive tour is designed for ultra cyclists or triathletes seeking to improve their cycling endurance and their techniques for completing longer rides successfully. RAINSTORM™ travels over hard-surfaced back roads in southern Indiana. There are no layover days on this tour. Lodging is in Indiana State Park inns (three nights) and nice hotels (two nights), and is included in the tour fee. All accommodations offer comfortable beds and air conditioning, making it easier to recover for the next day's ride. They also offer free WiFi, which can help you stay in touch during the tour. Terrain ranges from rolling to hilly; expect to be challenged. Four breakfasts and three dinners are included; menus are carefully planned for sound nutrition and variety, and include options for vegetarian and diabetic participants. At the state parks, buffets are served in the inn dining rooms. They offer lots of fresh fruits and vegetables as well as multiple entrees and sides. Dinners in Bloomington and Terre Haute (carbo loading the night before RAIN™) are on your own.

RAIN is an annual, one day bicycle ride across the State of Indiana sponsored by the Bloomington Bicycle Club. Its 160-mile length runs mostly on the Historic National Route 40 from Terre Haute to Richmond. 2011 marks the ride’s 25th anniversary.
